Dr. Muhammad Laique Zardari was born and raised in Moro, a historic town in the heart of central Sindh. Surrounded from childhood by the oral traditions, folklore, and living heritage of the region, he developed an early and abiding fascination with the stories of his people and their land.
He completed his early schooling in Moro before pursuing higher studies in history and literature. His academic path culminated in a doctorate, equipping him with the scholarly discipline that would define a lifetime of rigorous research into Sindhi history.
Devoting himself to teaching and research, he committed to recovering the documented and oral history of Sindh — working with manuscripts, archives, and communities to reconstruct narratives that had been at risk of being forgotten.
Over the decades he authored seventeen books spanning regional history, folklore, literature, architecture, and the methodology of cultural preservation. His writing is known for combining archival rigour with an accessible, deeply humane voice.
His research has become a reference point for students and scholars alike. Through systematic documentation and tireless advocacy, he has contributed immensely to preserving the heritage of Sindh and the recorded history of Pakistan.
